Call for Workshops & Tutorials

ICVS 2015 warmly invites proposals for half-day workshops and tutorials. Workshops and tutorials will be held after the main conference, on Thursday July 9 2015, at the same venue as the conference. The primary criteria for selection are the anticipated level of interest, the potential impact, and the confirmed invited speakers.

We encourage submissions related to (but not limited to)

  • Building Vision Systems: Paradigms, architectures, integration, control
  • Vision Systems Applications: Systems deployed in real/realistic scenarios
  • Real-Time Vision Systems
  • Robot Vision
  • Mobile and Wearable Vision Systems
  • Hardware-Implemented Vision Systems
  • Vision for the Real World: Robustness, learning, adaptability, self-assessment, failure recovery
  • Vision for Action: Robotics, perception-action loops
  • Vision in Context: Context awareness, knowledge representations, reasoning, goal specification
  • Biological Vision: Computer vision inspired by biology or psychology
  • Cognitive Vision Systems
  • Human-computer interaction: Monitoring, supervised learning, scene interpretation
  • Human-Robot Collaboration: Gesture recognition, scene understanding
  • Performance Evaluation: benchmarks, methods and metrics


For workshops, a one-page proposal is required and should consist of the following elements:

  1. Title.
  2. Organizers (Names, affiliations, emails), specifying one corresponding organiser.
  3. Workshop description. 500 words maximum. Includes motivations for the workshop, the names of invited speakers (if any), paper submission plan (dates, paper length, ..), etc.


For tutorials, a one-page proposal is required and should consist of the following elements:

  1. Title
  2. Presenters (short biography of each)
  3. Table of contents
  4. Suggested format (lecturing/interactive)
